Jurists Lecturers at Bacolod Regional Consultation on Criminal Procedure Reforms
“Atty. Manuel R. Riguera (left) and Atty. Tranquil G. Salvador III (right), Members of the Sub-Committee on the Revision of the Rules of Criminal Procedure, discuss some of the salient changes sought to be introduced by the Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Criminal Procedure at the Bacolod City leg of the Regional Consultations on the Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Criminal Procedure, held on October 10, 2024. These include provisions integrating jurisprudential doctrines and procedural rules which include the Rule on Body Worn Cameras and the Revised Guidelines for Continuous Trial. They also discussed the introduction of a certified DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) test result as a new ground for a motion for new trial, postponement fees, and conditional arraignment and custodial hearing vis-à-vis applications for bail.”
